How does it all work?
STEP-BY-STEPPrepare a plan or schedule in a regular planning tool, or in EPIQA itself.
Import your plan version in several steps using the EPIQA web interface with paired variables.
Enhance the plan with additional dimensions that the normal tool does not provide, workstations and their connections to the production line.
Review or modify dependencies between operations, including operations with no dependencies. Three basic views can be used for checking – GANTT, distribution of operations by workstations, distribution of operations by resources.
Set a strategy for recalculation of the given plan according to preference, “shortest project duration”, “even resource utilization on the project”, “immediate start of each operation”, “longest possible start of each operation”. EPIQA will help you with the check.
Set or check the scenario of limiting conditions for recalculation of the plan/schedule:
- Spatial arrangement – workplaces and distances
- Restrictions based on ergonomics – physically demanding professions
- Allocated capacity of resources to the order (plan) – expert workers and their skills, special equipment and material, resources shared between projects
- You have the schedule recalculated by choosing E-RUN and EPIQA will find the optimal solution
- You will be informed of the likely duration of the recalculation in the web application
- You will receive a notification about the completion of the calculation by email
- The plan can be exported to any production system (ERP)
At the same time, you will be informed about the need to recalculate the schedule of other projects that share management resources with the recalculated schedule. In EPIQA, you can then compare basic KPIs, multiple versions of the plan, or two different scenarios in the GANTT view.
Once you are satisfied with any version of the project plan or production schedule, it can be exported according to a pre-selected data structure, to a file of any format and then imported into your production or project application.
